Faculty of Arts doctoral conference 2017

What does the label ‘the Humanities’ cover? What questions are the next generation of humanities scholars engaged with? You are invited to participate in the Faculty of Arts doctoral conference to be held on November 16-17, 2017.

In the autumn of 2017, the Faculty of the Arts at the University of Gothenburg will be holding its first ever faculty-wide postgraduate conference. The faculty boasts 194 doctoral students, spread across six departments and thirty subjects. For the first time ever, presentations on such diverse subjects as speech recognition, New Age spiritualism in India, Sappho, political oaths, holiday cottages and royal titles in the New Testament will be united within one conference. We will offer thirty individual humanist presentations divided into ten sessions. In addition, several of the faculty’s new doctoral candidates will give short presentations of their proposed research projects.
