Courses and Programmes

The education offered at universities and university colleges always takes the form of courses, but there are nevertheless two ways to study. Either a student combines independent courses for a degree, or the student follows a programme where most of the courses are determined in advance. In both cases studies lead up to a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Full time studies during an academic year include 60 higher education credits (hec).

Most of the courses offered at the Humanities Faculty are independent. This means that the student has great freedom of choice to compose courses within the faculty or to make combinations with courses as other faculties for an individually adapted education.

Two undergraduate levels

There are two different undergraduate levels (cycles):

  • First Cycle: Bachelor´s level (Undergraduate).
  • Second Cycle: Master´s level. Courses on this level presuppose that you have passed the First Cycle.
